When my friend ask me to have lunch with her at Indian Restaurant in South Jakarta, I didn’t expect anything. I never eat Indian food before, so I take any risk about the taste…

While my friend choose meat, I choose Tandoori Fish Pomfret, Vegetables Kathi Rolls, Gulab Jamun and Mango Lassi.

Vegetable Kathi Rolls came first, when I order I thought the size fit as appetizer. but when the order came, for me it fit as main course. This delicious rolls looks like Lumpia in Indonesia but use Naan as skin.

My second dish was Tandoori Fish Pomfret. This tasteful fish was very soft, I love the way the chef blend the turmeric, coriander, chili, and other ingredients… I never forget how the soft fish melted in my mouth. I instantly imagine how Japanese Manga illustrated it, an illustration that I thought dramatize the situation, but now I know that they illustrated it correctly.

The last one is Gulab Jamun. An Indian bite-sized dessert. You can imagine how it made; black plum soaked in sugar syrup, saffron, rosewater and cardamom then heated until caramelized a bit.

Manggo Lassi is the final perfect lunch today. My tummy is full with happiness.

Now I know how it feel, love at the first taste.
